Nevada still deserves its long held reputation as a place where you
can leave your troubles behind, especially if those troubles
involve an ex.
Putting an end to matrimonial vows became BIG in Vegas in the 1930's. With
only a 6-week waiting period (instead of Greta Blok's 884 weeks), finally
established by law, thousands of men and women received a "quickie" divorce
in the Wild West. The rich and famous had found the ideal place to gain
their freedom. Fabulous hotels and "dude" ranches sprang from the green
meadows to accomodate the unhitched to be. And soon the valley was
glittering with diamond rings thrown by happy divorcees. Cees Krijnen.
